School Counseling

The Wells Memorial School Counseling Program

Our program is patterned after the National Model for the American School Counseling Association (ASCA). This model incorporates national standards that cover three main categories: Academic Development; Personal/Social Development; Career Development.

We seek to provide service for all children in the school, through regular; classroom, small group and individual - activities/discussions/classes. These opportunities are especially aimed at encouraging, strengthening and equipping students with the strategies and growth mindsets necessary to succeed in their own academic, personal, social and eventual career development. As students experience the "ups and downs" of life, we come alongside them to encourage, support, celebrate and challenge; as appropriate.

Another vital aspect of the School Counseling program is to provide community building, resources, support and equipping; for Parents, Caregivers and Staff.
